Radio Phoenix N.I was created with a purpose that goes far beyond playing music.
At the heart of the station is a desire to give men who may be struggling with their mental health somewhere to belong, talk, meet new people and get involved in something positive.
Everyone involved gives their time on a free, hobbyist basis, brought together by a shared passion for music, radio, sport and creating shows.
We aren't counsellors or mental-health professionals, and we don't pretend to be. What we can offer is a friendly environment, a listening ear and, where someone needs professional support, help point them in the direction of organisations and services that may be able to help.
Sometimes having somewhere to go, something to focus on and people to talk to can make a real difference.
